Hypnosis or Guided Relaxation
Hypnosis is a natural state of trance similar to
that achieved in meditation and one that can be induced by
a single idea or focus. It is like day dreaming and is very
relaxing.
The therapist either in person or on MP3/CD guides you into
a state of deep relaxation and then using positive suggestion
and imagery, helps you to clear out stress and negativity
and change the way you think about yourself and the world
you live in.
Modern hypnotherapy utilises the proven techniques of Solution
Focused Brief Therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming). These 'positive psychology'
models explain to us how change happens rather than how problems
develop. They also demonstrate that the way we think and act
influences the way we feel and using this information we can
replace old unhelpful ways of thinking with new beneficial
templates. Clients are encouraged to set themselves positive
goals that will set them on the road to the changes they desire.
These approaches when combined with the state of deep relaxation
enable people to make significant positive changes in a relatively
short period of time. Resolving unwelcome habits and thought
patterns at a subconscious level means that hypnosis literally
helps the parts that others cannot reach!
